Biometrics Stamp

The Biometrics Stamp uses 3D liveness detection powered by FaceTec to verify you are a unique, real human. Upon verification, a Soulbound Token (SBT) is minted on Optimism.

Step-by-Step Verification

1. Navigate to the Passport App and connect your wallet.
2. Select the Biometrics Stamp.
3. You will be redirected to the FaceTec 3D liveness detection flow.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the liveness scan. A mobile device is recommended for optimal camera performance.
5. Once liveness is confirmed, an SBT will be minted on Optimism.
6. The Biometrics Stamp will be added to your Passport.

Wallet Matching

Your wallet address is linked to the biometric verification. The SBT is minted to the wallet connected during verification, and the stamp will only appear on the Passport associated with that wallet.

SBT Transfer Restrictions

The Soulbound Token minted during verification is non-transferable. It is permanently bound to the wallet that completed the biometric scan. This ensures the credential cannot be sold or transferred to another user.

Renewal Process

• The stamp expires after 90 days and must be re-verified through the liveness detection process.
• The SBT is valid for 1 year before it needs to be renewed.
• When renewing, you will need to complete the liveness detection again and pay the verification fee.

Troubleshooting

• Liveness detection fails — Ensure good lighting and use a mobile device with a front-facing camera. Avoid wearing sunglasses or hats.
• SBT not appearing — The minting transaction may take a few minutes to confirm on Optimism. Check your wallet on the Optimism network.
• Wrong network — The SBT is minted on Optimism, but the stamp is recognized across Ethereum, Optimism, Avalanche, and Base.
